Hackley School: Reflecting on the Refugee Crisis

Hackley School teacher, Roni Kanter, has been teaching her 3rd graders about refugees and our work at Hearts & Homes for Refugees. Using the paintings from our recent “Visions of Home Lands” exhibitions as a springboard, her students created stunning and meaningful posters and poems reflecting the beauty of Ukrainian culture and the children’s concern for the country’s refugees. Read ‘em and weep - sadness for the displaced Ukrainians and happiness that these children will grow up to be empathetic, empowered citizens of the world!
