Hearts & Homes for Refugees stands with the people of Ukraine.

Since the summer of 2022, Hearts & Homes for Refugees has served over 50 Ukrainians in our communities. Each with varying levels of needs, we have adapted our resettlement strategies to provide holistic support and guidance to every family. We are working with Ukrainian refugees to provide food and housing support, employment and childcare guidance, and ESOL support, in addition to connecting with our partners to provide legal support.

Hearts & Homes for Refugees and the Ukraine Immigration Task Force have been proud to be part of the NY-NJ Ukraine Sponsorship Support Hub. Thanks to Welcome.US, five such Hubs were created around the country dedicated to assisting Ukrainians and their sponsors through Uniting for Ukraine.

Thanks to a grant from the Welcome Fund (Welcome.US in partnership with GoFundMe.org) HHR is one of five members of the local New York/NJ Ukrainian Sponsor Support Hub —a coalition to welcome Ukrainian newcomers and their sponsors. Led by Immigrant ARC, the consortium consists of Hearts & Homes for Refugees, Ukraine Immigration Task Force, Marks JCH of Bensonhurst, and NJ Realtors United for Ukrainian Refugees.

We are working together to recruit new sponsors, centralize access to social services, and build mutual support among sponsors – all in service of welcoming our new Ukrainian neighbors to the U.S..

Additional sponsor hubs are located in the top metropolitan areas receiving high numbers of Ukrainian newcomers: Chicago, Philadelphia, Sacramento, and Seattle.

This coalition of community-based organizations work together to provide assistance to Ukrainians and their sponsors by connecting them to local resources and other forms of support,
